R&D

If you've followed Craftworks over the last 5 - 6 years you'll know what I mean about refinement and improvement, rather than 'experimental' new designs. I guess I've seen so many fad designs come and go, when companies like Intense are continuing to refine, refine and refine their frames. I wanted to resist the urge to release completely different models just to please some of the fad hungry market, when I knew what was needed was refinement.

Our R & D is taken seriously, and this sometimes means we delay the release of new models, but I figure if guys have waited a few months for our new releases, then a month or so more won't kill anyone.

R & D starts in the factory with technical drawings... Designs are further evaluated with exhaustive FEA testing, It then moves onto the prototype build where we lab test and ride sample frames. Test riding includes handing the bike to as many hard core guys that I know will hammer the guts out of it day after day. I figure I'm just one opinion and I really enjoy getting the feedback from the guys I ride with. When all goes well and we're ready to rock, it's another 6 months till they'll hit your bike shop.
